The "Roots" of Recovery Roots

The "Roots" of Recovery Roots

Ok, here we go! I've been building this deeply, personal vision for nearly two years now. It started when I went in desperate search of support and community with what I was struggling with and what I found (well, I guess technically didn't find) was that I couldn't find a place where I "fit so to speak. I could definitely relate to the "mindset" or thinking of certain recovery groups, yet my struggle was still different.

I feel like the word "Recovery" gets a bad rap. Like, aren't we ALL in recovery from something? A past hurt? A betrayal? A deep loss? Grief? Divorce? Addiction? Loneliness? Perfectionism? Depression? Anxiety? Fear? Past Trauma? PTSD from a myriad of things? I think most of us could answer with a resounding "Yes"! that healing is needed in an area of our lives. The principles of "recovery" are not specific to one struggle. They apply to any of life's struggles in general.

That's how Recovery Roots was imagined. It was imagined as a safe space where all are welcome to come as they are and receive support as well as give that back to others.....that's where true healing happens. My vision is to have a confidential, community board that anyone can request to join and be a part of community. The only requirement will be a desire to heal. Pretty simple membership requirement, right? Oh- and more importantly it's strictly confidential in order to make it a safe space. Anyone violating that policy will be removed immediately for the safety of everyone else that is honoring that commitment day in and day out!

My story is full of choices I'm not proud of, but it also features a "can't miss" comeback story that hopefully can encourage others in their journey.

This online store isn't the purpose of my vision- not by a long shot but I thought I could have some fun along the way and offer motivational merchandise to support anyone's healing journey. I'm not afraid to "wear my story". My signature product (or slogan anyway) is "Resilience is my Super Power!" And, it really truly is. I've been dragged on the ground more times than I care to own, but the one thing I've always done well is to get back up and try again! So, what's your superpower? I'd love to make a custom design for you! Hope you enjoy the merch I've started with! Feel free to share and also drop any ideas for quotes you'd like to wear or buy for someone you care deeply about their journey!

I want to change the way people view "recovery". I want to end the stigma that surrounds admitting we need help. Will you join me? Join my movement! #recoveryroots
